Pakistan Shivers as PMD Reports Record Low Temperatures Nationwide

Islamabad, January 24, 2026 – Pakistan is currently experiencing a severe cold wave, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reporting the lowest temperatures recorded across the country on Saturday morning.

Most regions remain under the grip of cold, with upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and northern Balochistan facing extremely low temperatures.

Weather Outlook

The PMD reports that continental air is dominating most parts of Pakistan.

• Saturday: Cold and dry weather is expected in most areas, with very cold and partly cloudy conditions in the northern regions. Cold winds are likely throughout the country.

• Sunday: Similar conditions are forecasted, but southwestern Balochistan may experience partly cloudy weather with evening/night rain-wind or snowfall.
