Football exports drive growth as Pakistan’s sports goods shipments post double-digit increase despite weaker performance in June.
Pakistan’s sports goods exports increased by 10.08% during the fiscal year 2025-26, driven primarily by strong demand for footballs in international markets, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
The country exported sports goods worth $424.349 million during July-June FY2025-26, compared with $385.502 million recorded in the corresponding period of FY2024-25.
Football exports lead annual growth
Among the major export categories, football exports posted the strongest contribution, rising 11.72% to $256.723 million during FY2025-26 from $229.782 million a year earlier.
The increase reinforces Pakistan’s position as one of the world’s leading football manufacturing hubs, with exports continuing to benefit from steady international demand.
Gloves exports decline
In contrast, exports of sports gloves fell 5.91% during the fiscal year.
According to PBS data, glove exports declined to $59.567 million, compared with $63.307 million in the previous fiscal year.
Other sports goods register strong gains
Exports of other sports goods recorded healthy growth during the year under review.
Shipments in this category increased 16.93% to $108.059 million, up from $92.413 million in FY2024-25, contributing significantly to the overall improvement in sports goods exports.
June exports fall sharply year-on-year
Despite the strong annual performance, sports goods exports witnessed a significant decline in June 2026.
Exports stood at $26.164 million, down 28.08% from $36.378 million recorded in June 2025.
During the month, exports of footballs declined 38.90%, while gloves dropped 11.27%. Exports of other sports goods also decreased 12.52% compared with the same month last year.
Monthly exports also decline
On a month-on-month basis, sports goods exports fell 35.04% in June 2026 compared with May 2026.
Exports dropped from $40.275 million in May to $26.164 million in June, reflecting weaker export activity across all major product categories at the end of the fiscal year.
