Mirpur, July 24, 2025 – Pakistan ended their T20I series against Bangladesh on a high note by securing a dominant 74-run victory in the third and final match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur.
The win allowed Pakistan to avoid a humiliating clean sweep after losing the first two matches of the series.
After consecutive defeats, Pakistan bounced back with an all-round performance that saw both their batting and bowling units clicking in unison. Batting first, they posted a competitive total, and their bowlers quickly dismantled Bangladesh’s top order in a ruthless display of pace and precision.
The early damage was done by Salman Mirza and Faheem Ashraf, who tore through the Bangladesh top order within the Powerplay, picking up five wickets between them in the first five overs. Mirza stood out with an impressive three-wicket haul, setting the tone for the rest of the match. While Pakistan failed to clean up the tail swiftly—due to a few front-foot no-balls—their consistent wicket-taking ensured a comfortable finish.
Despite the victory, Pakistan conceded the series 2-1, marking a historic achievement for Bangladesh, who won their first T20I series against the cricketing giants. The hosts came into the final game with four straight T20I wins, including a series triumph over another Asian rival.
Bangladesh made five changes for the final match, resting key players like Parvez Hossain Emon and Tawhid Hridoy. Their replacements failed to make an impact, with both the top and middle orders collapsing. Only Mohammad Saifuddin offered resistance with an unbeaten 35, but it wasn’t enough to prevent a heavy defeat.
The series concludes with Pakistan regaining some pride and Bangladesh celebrating a landmark series win.
