Pakistan and England set for a crucial ODI showdown in May 2027 as both teams gear up for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
Pakistan’s men’s cricket team is set to tour England in May 2027 for a five-match One-Day International (ODI) series, offering both teams valuable match practice ahead of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027.
According to the announced schedule, the series will begin on May 15, 2027, with the opening ODI scheduled to be played in Southampton. The contest will mark the start of an important bilateral series between two of the leading cricket nations as they continue preparations for the global tournament later in the year.
The second ODI will take place in Manchester on May 19, while Leeds will host the third match on May 21. The remaining two fixtures are scheduled for Chester-le-Street and Cardiff on May 23 and May 26, respectively, completing a packed five-match series across England.
The ODI series is expected to play a significant role in helping both sides fine-tune their squads, strategies, and combinations ahead of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027. The prestigious tournament will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia from October 4 to November 21, 2027.
Pakistan currently occupy fifth position in the ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings, while England are ranked seventh. With both teams aiming to improve their standing and build momentum before the World Cup, the series is likely to attract significant attention from cricket fans worldwide.
Pakistan are presently engaged in a two-match Test series against the West Indies. Following that assignment, the national side will travel to England next month for a three-match Test series scheduled from August 19 to September 13, further strengthening cricketing ties between the two countries.
The last time Pakistan played an ODI series in England was in 2021. During that tour, former captain Babar Azam delivered an outstanding performance, finishing as the leading run-scorer with 177 runs in three matches, including a memorable 158-run innings in the third ODI.
