ISLAMABAD, April 9 – Pakistan Meteorological Department forecast largely dry weather across most parts of the country on Friday, with isolated rain, strong winds and thunderstorms expected in northern and western regions.

In its latest advisory, the Met Office said scattered areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northeast Balochistan may experience gusty winds and thunderstorms during the afternoon hours, with the possibility of hailstorms at a few locations.

The federal capital, Islamabad, is expected to remain dry, although partly cloudy conditions may develop later in the day.

Most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will see dry weather, but isolated thunderstorms are likely in Kohat, Bannu, Tank, Dera Ismail Khan and adjoining areas. Hailstorms could also occur in some pockets.

Similarly, the plains of Punjab are expected to remain mostly dry. However, localized thunderstorm activity is forecast in districts such as Bhakkar, Layyah, Jhang and Dera Ghazi Khan, mainly during the afternoon. Hill stations including Murree and Galiyat are likely to witness partly cloudy skies by evening.

In Sindh, dry conditions are expected to prevail across most districts, offering stable weather conditions for residents.

Parts of Balochistan, including Zhob, Quetta and Gwadar, may receive scattered rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds, with chances of hailstorms in some areas.

The Met Office added that Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to experience dry to partly cloudy weather throughout the day.

Authorities have advised residents in vulnerable areas to remain cautious during storm activity, particularly in regions prone to strong winds and hail.
