Pakistan U16 Football Team Secures Semifinal Spot in SAFF

SAFF Championship

Pakistan’s U16 football squad exhibited their prowess in the SAFF U16 Championship, storming into the semifinals with a convincing 3-0 triumph over the Maldives on September 04.

The Green Shirts asserted their dominance right from the outset, as Subhan Karim notched the opening goal in the 14th minute.

The Maldives struggled to find their rhythm and failed to score, while Abdul Samad extended Pakistan’s lead in the 39th minute.

Adding to the Maldives’ woes, their goalkeeper conceded an unfortunate own goal, solidifying Pakistan’s 3-0 lead.

With this remarkable victory, Pakistan secures a coveted spot in the semifinals, where they are set to clash with the Group A runner-up on September 08.

This victory comes on the heels of their earlier win against the hosts, Bhutan, on September 2, where they emerged triumphant with a 2-1 scoreline in the tournament opener.

Pakistan’s U16 team is poised for an exciting journey in the SAFF Championship.
