Pakistan unveil squads for T20I Tri-Series and Asia Cup 2025

Lahore, August 17, 2025 – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday confirmed the 17-member national squad for the upcoming T20I tri-series in Sharjah and the prestigious Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE.

Both events will serve as crucial preparation ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup later this year.

The tri-nation series will feature Afghanistan, Pakistan, and UAE and will run from 29 August to 7 September at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Immediately after, the Asia Cup 2025 will be contested among eight Asian nations from 9 to 28 September in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Pakistan, drawn in Group A, will face traditional rivals India along with Oman and UAE.

The squad, led by Salman Ali Agha, features a balanced mix of experience and youth. Key pacers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf bolster the bowling attack, while Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub add firepower to the top order. The inclusion of youngsters like Hasan Nawaz and Salman Mirza reflects PCB’s focus on building bench strength.
