PESHAWAR, December 1, 2023 – The excitement for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 intensified as Pakistan revealed its Under-19 cricket squad for the prestigious eight-team tournament set to take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) from December 8 to 17.
The junior selection committee, led by Sohail Tanvir, finalized the 15-member squad, with Saad Baig retaining his role as captain and wicket-keeper. Baig previously led the Pakistan U19 team in the home series against Sri Lanka and the Bangladesh tour earlier this year.
Pakistan U19 has been placed in Group-A alongside formidable opponents Afghanistan U19, India U19, and Nepal U19. The tournament promises intense competition, providing a platform for young talents to showcase their skills on the international stage.
The schedule for Pakistan U19 in the group stage includes a match against Nepal on December 8, followed by clashes with arch-rivals India on December 10 and Afghanistan on December 12.
Preparations for the Asia Cup have been underway, with the squad participating in a training camp at the Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre in Karachi since November 24.
