Dubai, July 26, 2025 – Cricket fans are in for a major showdown as arch-rivals Pakistan and India are officially scheduled to face each other on September 14 in the Asia Cup 2025.
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) released the complete tournament schedule on Saturday, confirming the much-awaited high-voltage clash.
The Asia Cup 2025 will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the T20 format and will act as a key preparatory tournament for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The tournament kicks off on September 9 with the opening match between Afghanistan and Hong Kong.
This year, the competition expands from six to eight teams. Alongside full ICC members Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan, the top three teams from the ACC Premier Cup—UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong—will also participate in the event.
Pakistan have been placed in Group A with India, UAE, and Oman, while Group B includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong. The Pakistan team will open their campaign on September 12 against Oman, followed by the marquee clash with India on September 14, and conclude the group stage by facing hosts UAE on September 17.
If both India and Pakistan qualify from their groups, fans could witness another high-octane battle between the two on September 21 in the Super Four stage. The top two teams from this round will proceed to the final, scheduled for Sunday, September 28.
Cricket lovers across Pakistan, India, and beyond are already marking their calendars for what promises to be an unforgettable Asia Cup 2025.
