ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast predominantly dry weather across most parts of the country on Thursday and Friday, with hot daytime conditions expected to persist in the plains.
According to the PMD’s National Weather Forecasting Centre in Islamabad, continental air is prevailing over most parts of Pakistan, resulting in generally dry weather.
In its forecast issued on October 1, 2026, at 10:30am Pakistan Standard Time, the department said most areas would experience dry conditions on Thursday, while plain regions would remain hot during the daytime.
Similar conditions are expected on Friday, October 2, with dry weather likely to continue across most parts of the country. Daytime temperatures in the plains are also expected to remain high.
The PMD said the prevailing weather pattern was likely to continue over the next two days, with no significant change expected in its nationwide outlook.
During the preceding 24 hours, dry weather prevailed across most parts of Pakistan, while hot conditions were recorded in the plains.
According to the PMD’s recorded maximum temperatures, Dadu was the hottest location among the cities listed, with the mercury reaching 40°C on Wednesday.
Sibi, Rohri, Dalbandin and Sukkur each recorded a maximum temperature of 39°C, highlighting the continued heat in several areas.
The persistence of high daytime temperatures may cause discomfort, particularly during the afternoon. Residents in hotter areas are advised to stay hydrated, limit strenuous outdoor activities during peak heat and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
