Pakistan Weather

Islamabad, October 31, 2024 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued its weather forecast for Friday, November 1, 2024. According to the PMD, dry conditions are expected to dominate across most regions of Pakistan, with cooler temperatures prevailing in hilly areas, particularly during the morning and nighttime hours. Northeast Punjab is likely to experience light smog in the morning, which may slightly impact visibility.

The synoptic analysis provided by the PMD indicates that a stable continental air mass is prevailing over most parts of the country, contributing to the dry and relatively cool conditions. This atmospheric setup favors clear skies with minimal precipitation, keeping rainfall largely at bay for most regions.

On Thursday, October 31, dry weather prevailed across the nation, with hilly regions experiencing cold temperatures, particularly after sunset. The continuation of these conditions reflects a seasonal shift as the country enters its cooler months.

In the past 24 hours, temperatures remained higher in some southern and southwestern regions, with notable high temperatures recorded in cities such as Mithi, which reached 40°C, followed closely by Lasbella at 39°C. Chhor, Turbat, Mirpur Khas, and Shaheed Benazirabad all reported maximum temperatures of around 38°C, reflecting warmer conditions typical for these areas.

For residents in Punjab, the presence of light smog in the northeast poses potential health and travel concerns. The PMD advises individuals, particularly those with respiratory conditions, to take precautions, as smog can aggravate breathing issues and reduce air quality. Motorists should also exercise caution, especially during early hours when visibility may be reduced by the smog.

As November unfolds, PMD anticipates cooler nights and mornings becoming more widespread, especially in northern and higher-altitude regions. In urban centers like Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi, daytime temperatures are expected to remain moderate, providing comfortable conditions for outdoor activities. However, temperatures are likely to dip sharply after sunset in northern and mountainous regions, necessitating warmer clothing and precautions against the cold.

The PMD continues to monitor weather patterns and advises citizens to stay updated on daily forecasts, as conditions may vary across Pakistan’s diverse geography. With dry and cool weather expected to persist, the PMD’s advisory signals a stable start to November, marking the gradual onset of the winter season across the country.
