Islamabad, October 8, 2024 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather forecast for Wednesday, October 9, 2024. According to the forecast, most parts of Pakistan are expected to experience mainly dry weather. However, regions of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan may witness rain accompanied by wind and thunderstorms.
In its detailed synoptic situation, the PMD has indicated that a westerly wave is currently present over the western and upper parts of the country, which could influence localized weather patterns in the northern regions. This weather system is expected to bring precipitation primarily to the high-altitude areas of northern Pakistan, while the southern and central regions of the country will likely remain dry and warm.
Forecast for October 9, 2024
• Dry Weather: Most of the country is expected to experience dry conditions, including major urban centers like Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, and Peshawar.
• Rain/Thunderstorm: Rain, wind, and thunderstorms are likely in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, as well as isolated areas in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This weather pattern follows similar conditions observed on Tuesday, October 8, when upper Punjab, northeastern Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and northern areas saw rain, thunderstorms, and even isolated hailstorms.
