PMD forecasts dry weather across Punjab, cold nights in Murree

Most districts of Punjab are expected to experience dry conditions on Monday and Tuesday, while temperatures remain cold in Murree, Galiyat and northern areas.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast dry weather across most districts of Punjab on Monday and Tuesday, 26 and 27 October 2026, with cold conditions expected in Murree, Galiyat and surrounding areas.

According to the PMD’s National Weather Forecasting Centre in Islamabad, the forecast issued on Monday at 10:30am Pakistan Standard Time indicates that most parts of the province will experience dry weather.

However, Murree, Galiyat and adjoining areas are likely to experience cold weather during the night on Monday. On Tuesday, cold conditions are expected during both morning and night hours.

The department said continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country, contributing to predominantly dry weather conditions.

Across Pakistan, dry weather is expected to persist in most areas on Monday and Tuesday. However, partly cloudy conditions are likely in the northern regions, where temperatures are expected to remain cold during the night on Monday and during the morning and night on Tuesday.

Reviewing weather conditions over the past 24 hours, the PMD reported that dry weather prevailed across most parts of the country, while northern areas experienced cold conditions during morning and night hours.

The department also reported low minimum temperatures in several locations. Skardu recorded the lowest temperature at minus 1°C, followed by Ziarat at 1°C and Kalat at 2°C. Babusar and Astore recorded minimum temperatures of 3°C.

Residents and travellers visiting Murree, Galiyat and other northern areas should prepare for colder conditions, particularly during early mornings and at night.
