Islamabad, January 3, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted snowfall over hilly areas in various regions of the country on Saturday, January 4, 2025.

According to the PMD, rain accompanied by snowfall is anticipated in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, North Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and adjoining hilly areas. Moderate to dense fog is also likely to persist in most plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh, particularly during the early morning and nighttime hours.

The synoptic analysis indicates that a frontal weather system is currently present over the upper regions of the country and is expected to persist until the morning of January 6, 2025.

For Friday, January 3, 2025, the PMD reported similar weather patterns with rain and snowfall in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, North Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and nearby mountainous areas. Foggy conditions continued to impact visibility in plain regions of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh.
