Islamabad, September 11, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has released its latest forecast, providing an outlook of the country’s weather conditions for September 11 and September 12.
According to the advisory, continental air is currently dominating most regions of Pakistan. On Thursday, the majority of the country is likely to experience hot and dry weather. However, some relief in the form of partly cloudy skies and light rain is anticipated at scattered locations in Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours.
Moving into Friday, the PMD predicts a continuation of mainly hot and dry weather across most provinces. Residents of flood-affected districts in Punjab have been cautioned that the prevailing heatwave-like conditions may persist for several more days, potentially complicating rehabilitation and recovery operations.
During the past 24 hours, contrasting weather patterns were observed across different regions. Rain, accompanied by gusty winds and isolated thundershowers—along with a few heavy falls—was reported in parts of Sindh and Balochistan. Karachi received significant rainfall, with DHA Phase 2 recording 33 mm, Keamari 20 mm, and Korangi 19 mm. Other city areas such as Gulshan-e-Maymar (17 mm), Surjani Town (14 mm), and North Karachi (13 mm) also experienced showers. In Balochistan, Ormara recorded 30 mm, while Pasni and Lasbella received 11 mm and 10 mm respectively.
Meanwhile, extremely high temperatures were reported in some areas, with Nokundi hitting 43°C, Dalbandin 42°C, and Chilas 40°C, reflecting the intensity of Pakistan’s late summer weather conditions.
