Pakistan Women Cricket

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced the complete schedule for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, set to run from September 30 to November 2 across India and Sri Lanka.

Under the tournament’s hybrid hosting model, Pakistan’s women’s cricket team will play all of their group-stage fixtures in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Following an unbeaten performance in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier held in Lahore earlier this year, Pakistan booked their place among the elite.

The squad, captained by star all-rounder Fatima Sana, will begin their campaign at the R. Premadasa Stadium against Bangladesh on October 2.

According to the official match schedule, all of Pakistan’s games will start at 3:00 PM local time. One of the most anticipated contests of the group stage is the Pakistan vs India clash on October 5, promising high stakes and intense rivalry.

Next, the Green Shirts will challenge Australia—the reigning champions—on October 8, followed by an equally tough fixture against 2017 winners England on October 15.

The journey continues with matches against New Zealand (October 18), South Africa (October 21), and co-hosts Sri Lanka (October 24), all played at the same venue in Colombo.

If Pakistan qualifies for the semi-finals or final, those knockout matches will also be hosted in Colombo as part of the hybrid arrangement announced by the ICC in December 2024.

However, if Pakistan does not advance, the semi-final they’re not part of will be played in Guwahati, India, while the final is scheduled for November 2 in Bengaluru.

To prepare for the tournament, each participating team will compete in two warm-up matches starting September 24. These matches are vital for adjusting to the conditions and finalizing playing combinations.

With a well-balanced squad and solid momentum, Pakistan enters the World Cup with high hopes, aiming to make a deep run in the tournament.

Pakistan’s Group-Stage Fixtures (All in Colombo at 3:00 PM):

October 2: vs Bangladesh

October 5: vs India

October 8: vs Australia

October 15: vs England

October 18: vs New Zealand

October 21: vs South Africa

October 24: vs Sri Lanka

The stage is now set for an exhilarating World Cup campaign for Pakistan’s women’s team.
