Pakistani Bridge Team Poised for Glory at 19th Asian Games

Pakistan is all set to make a resounding impact at the 19th Asian Games, fielding a formidable 16-member bridge squad. Comprising ten male and six female participants, this talented team consists of eleven players and five dedicated officials, all led by the seasoned bridge virtuoso, Ghalib Ali Bandesha.

The much-anticipated bridge showdown at the Asian Games will showcase competitions across three exciting categories: Men’s Team, Women’s Team, and Mixed Team.

These thrilling games are scheduled to unfold at the prestigious Hangzhou Qi-yuan (Zhili) Chess Hall, commencing from September 27 and culminating on October 06.

Captain Ghalib Bandesha proudly announced Pakistan’s readiness to compete in two pivotal categories: the Men’s Team and Mixed Team events. “In the Men’s competition, we are proud to field five talented players from our national squad, while the Mixed Team event will feature six of our top contenders,” he declared.

Ghalib Bandesha, boasting an illustrious 12-year international career, has an impressive accolade collection, including gold medals in BFAME Championships (2017), China-Arab States Bridge Championships (2013), and Bridge Festivals in Dubai (2016, 2017, & 2018), among other prestigious honors. He continues to be a cornerstone of the Pakistani bridge contingent.

The Pakistani bridge team also counts highly seasoned players like Rubina Agha and Masood Mazhar in its ranks, both of whom have amassed a treasure trove of world titles and medals throughout their illustrious careers.
