Pakistan’s Aisam ul Haq Dominates Davis Cup Tennis

Pakistan’s tennis sensation, Aisam ul Haq Qureshi, demonstrated his mastery on the grass court as he defeated Indonesia’s David Agung Susanto in a Davis Cup World Group-I4I showdown.

The electrifying match unfolded at the Aisam-ul-Haq Tennis Pavilion, located within the Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad, on September 16.

Aisam’s performance was nothing short of spectacular as he clinched victory in the first singles match, sweeping aside his opponent with a decisive 6-1, 6-4 scoreline.

The excitement continued to build in the second singles match, featuring Pakistan’s seasoned No.1 player, Aqeel Khan, squaring off against Gunawan Trismuwantara of Indonesia.

Despite Gunawan’s attempt to serve for the first set at 5-4, Aqeel staged an extraordinary comeback, seizing the next three games and ultimately claiming the set with a score of 7-5.

In the second set, Aqeel maintained his momentum, breaking his opponent early and securing a 6-4 victory. With these remarkable triumphs, Pakistan now holds a commanding 2-0 lead as they head into the second day of this prestigious tournament.

Salim Saifullah Khan, President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation, lauded the exceptional tennis exhibited on the court.
