The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has welcomed former Test all-rounder Yasir Arafat as High-Performance Coach of the national cricket team.

This exciting development comes ahead of the highly anticipated five T20 Internationals against New Zealand, set to kick off from January 12 to 21, 2024.

Yasir Arafat, a seasoned 41-year-old cricketer, brings a wealth of playing experience to his coaching role. Having donned the Pakistani colors in three Tests, 11 ODIs, and 13 T20Is, Yasir is no stranger to the international cricket arena.

Notably, he achieved a significant milestone by completing the ECB Level 4 coaching course at Loughborough University, making history as the first Pakistani Test cricketer to do so.

The newly appointed High-Performance Coach has an impressive coaching pedigree, having worked with esteemed county teams such as Sussex and Surrey. Yasir’s expertise also extends to the global stage, where he served as the bowling coach for Australia’s Big Bash League franchise, the Perth Scorchers.

His most recent coaching stint involved guiding the Hong Kong national team, showcasing his versatility and proficiency in nurturing cricketing talent.
