PCB Inducts Four Cricket Legends Into Hall of Fame

Lahore, January 10, 2025 – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the induction of four cricket legends—Inzamam-ul-Haq, Misbah-ul-Haq, Mushtaq Mohammad, and Saeed Anwar—into the prestigious PCB Hall of Fame for 2024. These stalwarts join an elite group of cricketing icons, including Abdul Qadir, AH Kardar, Fazal Mahmood, Hanif Mohammad, Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Younis Khan, and Zaheer Abbas.

The PCB confirmed that the inductees were selected through a transparent voting process. Participants in the voting panel included Hall of Famers Wasim Akram and Zaheer Abbas, former players Azhar Ali, Bismah Maroof, and Nain Abidi, as well as cricket analysts and journalists Majid Bhatti, Mohi Shah, Mohammad Yaqoob, Nauman Niaz, Sawera Pasha, and Zahid Maqsood.

The four inductees will be formally honored with commemorative caps and specially designed plaques during events scheduled throughout the year. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed his pride in recognizing these legends, stating, “On behalf of the PCB, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Inzamam, Misbah, Mushtaq, and Saeed. These players have significantly contributed to Pakistan’s cricketing legacy and inspired generations.”

About the Inductees

Inzamam-ul-Haq: A key player in Pakistan’s 1992 World Cup-winning team, Inzamam is Pakistan’s leading ODI run-scorer with 11,701 runs and third in Test runs with 8,829. His match-winning performances, including a famous 329 against New Zealand in 2002, left a lasting mark on the game.

Misbah-ul-Haq: Renowned for his calm demeanor, Misbah led Pakistan to the top of the ICC Test rankings in 2016. With 26 Test wins as captain and 5,122 ODI runs, he remains an inspiration for players navigating challenging times in Pakistan cricket.

Mushtaq Mohammad: A pioneer of reverse-sweeping and a key figure in Pakistan’s first Test win in Australia, Mushtaq was a master all-rounder. His 31,091 first-class runs and 936 wickets are a testament to his exceptional skills.

Saeed Anwar: Known for his elegant batting, Saeed Anwar is Pakistan’s leading century-maker in ODIs with 20 hundreds. His record-breaking 194 against India in 1997 remains one of the highlights of his illustrious career.
