The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is all set to unveil a remarkable nationwide spectacle—the Women’s Cricket Trials. Spread across eight dynamic cricket academies, this remarkable initiative is slated to kick off from August 23 to 31.

A remarkable opportunity lies in store for gifted female cricketers spanning various age groups, offering them a chance to dazzle on a grand platform and carve their path to cricketing greatness.

At the helm of these historic trials will be the esteemed National Selection Committee, led by the venerable Test cricketer Saleem Jaffar as Chairperson, accompanied by former international sensations Asmavia Iqbal and Marina Iqbal.

The spotlight will encompass three distinct age categories: the spirited U19 group, extending a warm welcome to players born on or after September 1, 2004; the rising stars; and the accomplished senior players.

These trials are set to act as a catalyst, unveiling the untapped potential and identifying gifted cricketers. As the selectors keenly identify and handpick exceptional talent, the chosen individuals will embark on the journey to don the prestigious jerseys of Pakistan’s Emerging and U19 teams.

The Pakistan Emerging side is gearing up for an enthralling showdown with the West Indies Emerging Team, scheduled for the upcoming October.

Furthermore, the Pakistan U19 squad is all set to participate in a triangular extravaganza alongside Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, a monumental event set to grace the vibrant landscapes of Bangladesh in January 2024.

Tania Mallick, Head of Women’s Cricket, expressed her excitement on the brink of this historic event, affirming, “By awarding groundbreaking domestic contracts to 74 illustrious women cricketers, we have initiated a symphony of progress in women’s cricket. As the nationwide trials beckon, we are on the cusp of ushering in a new wave of exceptional talent.”
