Lahore, January 17, 2026 — The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced revised match timings for the upcoming three-match T20I series between Pakistan and Australia, citing extreme weather conditions as the reason for the change.
According to the PCB, all three matches will now begin at 4:00 pm local time, with the toss scheduled for 3:30 pm. Previously, the fixtures were set for a 6:00 pm start, with the toss taking place at 5:30 pm. The adjustment aims to ensure player safety and uninterrupted play amid prevailing weather concerns.
Pakistan and Australia will face off at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, with matches scheduled for January 29, January 31, and February 1. The series is expected to draw significant attention as it serves as an important build-up for both teams ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.
At the World Cup, Pakistan have been placed in Group A alongside India, the United States, the Netherlands, and Namibia. Australia, meanwhile, will compete in Group B with Sri Lanka, Ireland, Zimbabwe, and Oman.
Sources indicate that Pakistan’s probable squad for the series includes captain Salman Ali Agha, along with key players such as Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi. Several other players are also under consideration, with reserves likely to be named closer to the series.
The tour marks Australia’s third visit to Pakistan since 2022 and adds another chapter to a long-standing T20I rivalry, with Australia holding a slight edge in head-to-head results.
