Lahore, April 6, 2025 – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced a stellar commentary lineup for the highly anticipated tenth edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).
This milestone season of the PSL is set to kick off on April 11 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium and will culminate in a grand final at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium on May 18.
The PCB confirmed that legendary former England Test captain Sir Alastair Cook will make his debut behind the mic in the PSL, marking his first foray into the world of T20 league commentary. He will be joined by renowned broadcaster and former MCC President Mark Nicholas, a familiar voice in global cricket circles. England’s Dominic Cork and Mark Butcher will also lend their expertise, while South African cricket greats JP Duminy and Mike Haysman round out the international panel.
Other global voices include Athar Ali Khan from Bangladesh and Martin Guptill of New Zealand, alongside Australia’s Lisa Sthalekar, a two-time ICC Women’s World Cup winner, who continues to break new ground in the commentary arena.
Representing Pakistan, the PCB has assembled a powerful local panel, led by four former national Test captains: Aamir Sohail, Ramiz Raja, Waqar Younis, and Wasim Akram — all household names in cricket, with both Waqar and Wasim enshrined in the ICC and PCB Halls of Fame. Supporting them will be Bazid Khan, Urooj Mumtaz, and analyst Sikander Bakht.
For the first time in PSL history, fans will be treated to a full match broadcast in Urdu commentary, bringing the action closer to the local audience. The Urdu team includes Ali Younis, Marina Iqbal, Salman Butt, Aqeel Samar, and Tariq Saeed, who will collaborate with the main panel for select segments.
PSL CEO Salman Naseer shared his enthusiasm: “The presence of such legendary figures adds global prestige to the PSL, while our Urdu broadcast innovation reflects the PCB’s commitment to making cricket more inclusive and fan-friendly. We believe this combination will elevate the experience for viewers in Pakistan and around the world.”
As the countdown to PSL X begins, excitement is building for what promises to be a landmark season.
