Breeze to Bring Weather Relief for Karachi in Coming Days

Karachi, April 6, 2025 – After enduring several days of intense heat, Karachi can finally expect some much-needed relief as cool breezes are forecast to return in the coming days.

While the temperatures will remain high, meteorologists predict that increased wind activity will help ease the oppressive heat, especially during the afternoons.

According to weather data from AccuWeather, today (Sunday, April 6) will continue to be extremely hot, with temperatures peaking around 41°C. However, a westerly breeze blowing at 15 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 37 km/h, may offer some temporary comfort for those outdoors. The skies will remain clear, and no precipitation is expected.

On Monday, April 7, the city will experience slightly cooler temperatures, with highs of 38°C and lows of 24°C. Stronger winds—around 20 km/h—are expected to pick up by the afternoon, making the day breezier. Despite this, the UV index will remain very high at 10, and experts are warning of dehydration and heatstroke risks, especially for those spending extended periods outside.

The trend continues into Tuesday, April 8, with daytime highs reaching 36°C. Sunshine will dominate, and a light southwesterly breeze of about 19 km/h will persist. While it will still feel very warm, the consistent wind is expected to provide some cooling relief, particularly in shaded areas.

Wednesday and Thursday will follow a similar pattern, with maximum temperatures hovering around 36°C and 34°C respectively. Both days are expected to be breezy in the afternoon, and partly sunny skies may offer some visual comfort from the blazing sun. Although humidity levels will remain low, residents are urged to stay hydrated and avoid peak afternoon hours outdoors, given the extreme UV index, which is projected to stay at 10 or above.

While Karachi won’t see a dramatic drop in temperatures, the return of coastal winds should help reduce the severity of the heat, especially for residents in open and well-ventilated areas. As always, the Pakistan Meteorological Department advises wearing light clothing, using sun protection, and staying indoors during the hottest parts of the day.

Stay safe and keep cool—Karachi’s breeze is finally on the way.
