Pedro Pascal recently shared a funny behind-the-scenes story involving co-star Dakota Johnson, joking that she was the reason behind a serious on-set injury. The two actors, who star alongside Chris Evans in the upcoming romantic comedy Materialists, appeared together in a light-hearted segment of LadBible’s Weirdest Would You Rather game to promote their film.
During the segment, Dakota asked Pedro, “What’s the movie I told you to do?” Without hesitation, Pascal replied, “Gladiator 2. And I tore my psoas. My shoulder popped out. I’ve never been the same.” He then playfully accused her, saying, “Wow. What a good friend. Sent me to die. You said, ‘You go die.’”
Pedro Pascal plays Marcus Acacius in Gladiator II, directed by Ridley Scott. The actor opened up about the demanding role in an earlier interview with Entertainment Tonight. Despite not being required to train heavily for the part, Pascal took it upon himself to get into shape — but it didn’t go as planned.
“There was no official instruction to bulk up,” Pedro said. “But I still went to the gym. I thought, ‘Better safe than sorry.’ I got stronger than I’ve ever been just to play the role properly. But I still got injured!”
Even with the injury, Pascal remains upbeat, and his humor continues to shine during promotional appearances. His chemistry with Dakota Johnson is evident, and fans are excited to see them on-screen together when Materialists hits theaters on June 13.
The film promises a mix of wit, romance, and star power, and with Pedro Pascal in the spotlight, expectations are high. As he recovers from his physical setbacks with humor and charm, fans are applauding his dedication — and laughing along with his friendly banter.
Whether he’s swinging swords or cracking jokes, Pascal proves once again why he’s one of Hollywood’s most beloved stars.
