The latest increase follows a rise of 85 paisa per litre in diesel prices on October 29, which pushed the fuel rate above the Rs400 mark.
The latest adjustment comes amid global oil market volatility linked to renewed tensions between the United States and Iran, raising concerns about international petroleum supplies.
On July 17, the government introduced a new petroleum pricing mechanism under which fuel prices are reviewed and notified daily, replacing the previous weekly pricing system.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a special fuel relief scheme on September 13, offering a subsidy of Rs100 per litre to motorcycles, three-wheeler rickshaws and cars with engine capacities of up to 800cc.
The scheme aims to benefit an estimated 11.8 million people, including two-wheeler and three-wheeler users and owners of small cars, providing monthly fuel relief of up to Rs3,000 per eligible beneficiary.
