Pakistan increases petrol price by Rs1.54, HSD by Rs2.16

The government has fixed petrol at Rs379.25 per litre and high-speed diesel at Rs395.82 for October 27 amid volatility in global oil markets.

Islamabad, October 27, 2026: The federal government has increased petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) prices by Rs1.54 and Rs2.16 per litre, respectively, for October 27, according to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division on Monday.

Under the revised rates, petrol will cost Rs379.25 per litre, while high-speed diesel will be available at Rs395.82 per litre.

The latest adjustment follows an earlier increase of Rs1.91 per litre in the price of HSD, while petrol prices remained unchanged from October 24 to October 26.

The government introduced a daily petroleum pricing mechanism on July 17, replacing the previous weekly system, amid renewed tensions between the United States and Iran and growing uncertainty in international oil markets.

Global crude oil prices have remained volatile amid geopolitical tensions and concerns over supplies. Brent crude futures rose 49 cents, or 0.4%, to $117.21 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude fell 35 cents, or 0.34%, to $102.92 per barrel on Monday.

Pakistan remains vulnerable to international oil price movements because it imports most of its petroleum requirements.

Meanwhile, the government has proposed fuel relief of Rs100 per litre for motorcycles, three-wheeler rickshaws and cars with engine capacities of up to 800cc. The scheme is expected to cover approximately 11.8 million beneficiaries, providing monthly relief of up to Rs2,000 for eligible two- and three-wheeler users and Rs3,000 for qualifying small-car owners.

The government has also reintroduced austerity and fuel conservation measures, including restrictions on business operating hours, to manage rising energy costs.

Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan held talks with Iranian officials in Tehran on Monday as diplomatic efforts continued to prevent further escalation in the Middle East.
