Islamabad, February 28, 2026 – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held separate telephone conversations with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia and President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) this evening, strongly condemning the recent regional escalation in the Gulf.
Condemnation of Israeli Attacks on Iran and Gulf Countries
During both calls, the Prime Minister expressed deep concern over the Israeli attack on Iran earlier today, which was followed by regrettable attacks on other Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai. He described the escalation as a serious threat to regional peace and security.
Pakistan’s Solidarity with Saudi Arabia and UAE
Addressing the Saudi leadership, PM Shehbaz Sharif assured that Pakistan fully stands with its Saudi brothers and sisters at all times and under all circumstances. He emphasized that Pakistan is ready to play a constructive role during this challenging period and prayed that the blessings of Ramadan bring peace to the region at the earliest.
Similarly, in his conversation with the UAE leadership, the Prime Minister expressed sadness over the tragic death of a Pakistani national in the missile attack on Abu Dhabi. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s full support and solidarity with the UAE, highlighting the strong fraternal bonds that have long connected the two nations.
Call for Peace and Stability
PM Shehbaz Sharif underlined Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability and constructive engagement amid escalating tensions. He reiterated that Pakistan would always stand by its Gulf partners in times of crisis and work toward peaceful resolution of conflicts in the region.
