Islamabad, October 8, 2025 — Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday reaffirmed that the Pakistan–Saudi Arabia defence cooperation agreement reflects the unbreakable bond of brotherhood, mutual respect, and strategic trust between the two nations.
He emphasized that by strengthening their partnership, both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia could secure a more influential role in the global community.
Addressing a luncheon at the Prime Minister’s House in honour of the visiting Saudi delegation led by Prince Mansour bin Mohammad bin Saad Al Saud, Chairman of the Saudi–Pakistan Joint Business Council, Shehbaz Sharif said that relations between the two countries were “anchored in faith, friendship, and shared destiny.” The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, federal ministers, senior officials, and leading business personalities.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly welcomed Prince Mansour and his delegation, expressing delight at their visit and remarking that “Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are bound together as one family.” He fondly recalled his decades-long association with the Kingdom, mentioning that his first visit to Saudi Arabia in the 1960s had left a lasting impression on him. He praised the Kingdom’s rapid transformation and described his recent visit to Riyadh as “unique and unforgettable,” particularly due to the gracious hospitality of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Saudi people.
Highlighting the deep-rooted friendship, Shehbaz said, “The Saudi leadership and people have stood by Pakistan through every trial. We are united by our faith, and every Muslim is prepared to defend the sanctity of the holy sites.” He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, noting that the new defence pact was an extension of long-standing military and strategic cooperation.
The prime minister further stated that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were entering a new era of partnership based on trade, investment, innovation, and technology. “We must seize this moment of opportunity,” he said. “Together, we can convert our shared vision into tangible progress.”
Shehbaz commended Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visionary leadership for transforming the Kingdom’s economy and society under Vision 2030. “With determination, unity, and mutual support, we can shape a prosperous future for our people,” he said.
Prince Mansour bin Mohammad bin Saad Al Saud, in his remarks, said the Saudi business community was eager to expand investments in Pakistan. He appreciated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation, assuring that both sides would work closely to achieve mutually beneficial goals.
