Islamabad, March 23, 2026 — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan’s economy is moving on a path of sustainable growth despite ongoing domestic and global challenges, in his message on the occasion of Pakistan Day.
Paying tribute to the nation’s resilience, the prime minister highlighted that Pakistan has consistently overcome trials since its inception, evolving from a newly formed state into a nuclear power. He noted that the country’s journey continues with determination toward a stronger and more prosperous future.
Emphasizing the importance of unity and collective effort, the prime minister called on the nation to align with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and work together through a national strategy focused on stability, development, and long-term progress.
Economic Stability and Positive Indicators
PM Shehbaz pointed to key economic improvements, including a gradual decline in inflation, rising investor confidence, and strengthening macroeconomic indicators. He attributed these gains to structural reforms, prudent fiscal management, and public confidence in the government’s direction.

The prime minister described March 23 as a landmark date in South Asian history, marking the Lahore Resolution of 1940, which laid the foundation for an independent homeland for Muslims of the subcontinent. He paid homage to the leadership inspired by Allama Iqbal and the sacrifices that led to the creation of Pakistan in 1947 under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Highlighting national defense, PM Shehbaz praised Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies for safeguarding sovereignty with professionalism and dedication.
