PM Shehbaz in New York for UNGA 80th Session

NEW YORK, September 23, 2025 – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in New York to lead Pakistan’s delegation at the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) during the High-Level Week.

The Prime Minister will represent Pakistan at the UNGA and deliver an address outlining the country’s stance on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, the question of Palestine, and Pakistan’s broader perspective on global peace, security, and development.

While attending the UNGA session, PM Shehbaz is scheduled to participate in several high-level meetings, including a session of the UN Security Council, the High-Level Meeting on the Global Development Initiative (GDI), and a special dialogue on climate action.

He will also join a select gathering of Islamic leaders with U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss regional and international security issues. In addition, bilateral meetings with world leaders and senior UN officials are planned to strengthen cooperation on matters of mutual interest.

By attending the UNGA, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underscores Pakistan’s firm commitment to multilateralism and the United Nations, while reaffirming its dedication to advancing peace, justice, and sustainable development on the global stage.

The visit highlights Pakistan’s proactive role in shaping global dialogue, strengthening diplomacy, promoting economic partnerships, and ensuring its voice is heard at the UNGA.
