PM Shehbaz Sharif Congratulates Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Historic Appointment

Islamabad, December 5, 2025 – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on his appointment as Pakistan’s first Chief of Defence Forces, praising his leadership and achievements in strengthening the country’s defence capabilities.

The Prime Minister expressed his best wishes, stating that the appointment aligns with modern warfare requirements and will further enhance Pakistan’s military strength.

“Under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, our brave forces delivered a crushing defeat to the enemy,” PM Shehbaz Sharif said.

He also highlighted the success of Marka e Haq, stating,

“This brilliant success made Pakistan’s name shine globally and earned the country respect.”

In addition, the Prime Minister extended congratulations to Chief of Air Staff Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu on his two-year service extension. He praised the Air Force’s performance under Sidhu’s leadership, especially during Marka e Haq, where Pakistan Air Force showcased professional skills and operational excellence.

“Under Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, the PAF destroyed enemy warplanes and instilled fear in adversaries,” the Prime Minister remarked.

PM Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed the importance of unity among all institutions, emphasizing collaboration for Pakistan’s defence, development, and prosperity.

“Together, we will make the country’s defence impregnable,” he concluded.

The Prime Minister also urged continued focus on modernization, training, and strategic planning, ensuring Pakistan’s armed forces remain ready to meet emerging challenges.
