Islamabad, November 21, 2025 – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday instructed relevant ministries and departments to fast-track the development of a unified industrial policy, integrating private-sector proposals to strengthen Pakistan’s economic growth.
He emphasized that coordinated decision-making and policy alignment are crucial for sustainable industrial development and employment generation.
Chairing a meeting of the Private Sector Committee on National Industrial Development, the prime minister stressed the importance of translating expert recommendations into actionable reforms without delay. He highlighted that industrial growth is key to boosting income levels, attracting investment, and creating new job opportunities across the country.
During the session, committee members from the private sector presented their comprehensive recommendations for industrial advancement. Prime Minister Shehbaz appreciated these proposals, calling them vital for Pakistan’s industrial development. He instructed that these recommendations be carefully reviewed, merged with insights from other economic sectors, and incorporated into the national industrial policy framework.
The prime minister also underscored the government’s commitment to enhancing ease of doing business and promoting a favorable investment environment. He praised the Pakistani business community for supporting government policies during challenging times, noting that their contributions have helped stabilize the economy and set Pakistan on a path toward progress.
A comparative analysis with regional countries was also shared during the meeting to explore strategies for improving Pakistan’s industrial competitiveness.
Federal Ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Jam Kamal Khan, Ahad Khan Cheema, Ali Pervaiz Malik, Advisor to the Prime Minister Muhammad Ali, Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani, Special Assistant Haroon Akhtar, and industrialists from the Industrial Working Group led by Saqib Shirazi attended the meeting.
