Islamabad, October 23, 2025 – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday instructed federal institutions to refine existing economic strategies based on expert and business community recommendations to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth across Pakistan.
Chairing a high-level meeting with representatives from various industrial and business sectors, the Prime Minister reviewed proposals aimed at boosting investment opportunities and strengthening economic development, according to a news release from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that the government’s top priority is to facilitate industrial and business communities, remove barriers for new enterprises, and encourage investment-friendly policies. He assured that both domestic and foreign investors would receive full government support and that obstacles to new ventures would be addressed promptly.
The Prime Minister emphasized that expanding exports, establishing new industries, and enhancing productivity are crucial to transforming Pakistan’s recent macroeconomic stability into long-term national prosperity. He stressed the importance of public-private partnerships to achieve sustainable progress and job creation.
Highlighting Pakistan’s economic vision, Shehbaz Sharif said the government aims to make Pakistani products globally competitive and attract greater foreign direct investment (FDI), particularly in manufacturing and production sectors.
He further noted that federal ministries are actively working to convert economic stability into widespread welfare, improve industrial competitiveness, and lower production costs to strengthen exports.
Industry representatives appreciated the government’s reform agenda and ongoing efforts toward policy consistency, which they believe will make Pakistan a more attractive destination for investors.
The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Energy Minister Sardar Owais Ahmad Khan Leghari, Economic Affairs Minister Ahad Khan Cheema, Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal, National Food Security Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain, IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani, and other senior officials.
