Islamabad, December 29, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast light drizzle in Karachi on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, as weather conditions turn partly cloudy along Sindh’s coastal belt. The advisory comes as winter patterns continue to influence weather across much of the country.
According to the PMD’s latest forecast for Sindh, most districts of the province are expected to experience cold and partly cloudy conditions on Tuesday. However, light rain or drizzle may occur at isolated locations in coastal areas, including Karachi. The department also warned that patchy fog could develop during morning and night hours over Sukkur, Rohri, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Shaheed Benazirabad, Mohenjo Daro, and surrounding areas, potentially affecting visibility.
For Monday, the PMD said cold and dry weather prevailed across most parts of Sindh, with fog forming in patches over upper Sindh districts during nighttime hours.
At the national level, the PMD reported that continental air is currently dominating most regions of Pakistan. Meanwhile, a westerly wave is expected to approach western parts of the country from Monday night, which may alter weather conditions in the coming days.
On Monday, cold and dry weather was observed across most areas of Pakistan, while partly cloudy to cloudy conditions persisted in upper regions. Rain accompanied by wind and thunderstorms, along with snowfall over hilly areas, was likely in northern and southwestern Balochistan. Dense fog in patches was also expected over the plains of Punjab and upper Sindh during the night.
Looking ahead to Tuesday, cold weather is forecast for most parts of the country, with cloudy conditions in upper and southern regions. Rain, wind, and thunderstorms with snowfall over the hills are expected in Balochistan, while scattered rain and snowfall may occur in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and adjoining hilly areas during evening and night hours.
During the past 24 hours, cold and dry weather prevailed nationwide, with very cold conditions in northern regions. The lowest recorded temperatures included Leh at -07°C, Gupis at -05°C, Skardu at -03°C, and Kalat, Parachinar, and Bagrote at -02°C, according to PMD data.
