Islamabad, July 30, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued an urban flooding alert for Islamabad and Rawalpindi, warning that heavy monsoon rains expected on July 30 and 31 may lead to severe water accumulation in low-lying areas.
According to the PMD, strong monsoon currents and a westerly wave are influencing weather patterns over the upper regions of Pakistan. The urban flooding alert also applies to other major cities including Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Peshawar, which may experience heavy downpours capable of overwhelming drainage systems.
