PMD issues weather alert: temperatures to drop further in northern Pakistan

Islamabad, November 29, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a fresh weather advisory warning of an upcoming decline in temperatures across the northern parts of the country.

According to the PMD, both daytime and nighttime temperatures are expected to fall further in the coming days as colder continental winds continue to influence the region.

The department added that foggy conditions over the plains of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are likely to intensify gradually, creating reduced visibility during early morning and late-night hours.

Cold and dry weather is expected across most areas, with very cold conditions in hilly regions during morning and night hours. Smog and patchy fog may form in the plain districts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Sunday:

Similar cold and dry conditions will persist, particularly in mountainous regions. Smog and fog are likely to develop in the plains of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during morning and night hours.

The last 24 hours remained cold and dry in most parts of the country, with extremely cold temperatures recorded in upper hilly areas. Smog and patchy fog continued to affect several plain regions of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
