Islamabad, December 7, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a fresh weather forecast, warning of very cold temperatures across northern Pakistan on Monday, December 8, 2025.
The department stated that continental air continues to dominate most regions, contributing to the prevailing dry and cold conditions.

Forecast for Sunday
Cold and dry weather is expected in the majority of Pakistan. However, northern areas are likely to experience very cold nights. Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir may see partly cloudy skies. Smog — along with patches of fog during nighttime hours — is anticipated to continue over the plain regions of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The PMD predicts similar conditions for Monday, with cold and dry weather across the country and very cold mornings and nights in northern regions. Smog and light fog are expected to persist over the plains of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during night and early morning hours.
Weather During the Past 24 Hours
The last 24 hours remained cold and dry nationwide, with very cold and partly cloudy weather reported in hilly areas. Smog and patchy fog continued in several plain districts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The lowest recorded temperatures today included Leh at -7°C, Skardu at -5°C, and Gupis and Gilgit at -3°C, highlighting the intensifying winter conditions in the northern belt.
