Islamabad, December 14, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued the latest nationwide weather forecast for Monday, December 15, 2025, highlighting cold conditions across most regions as a shallow westerly wave continues to influence the western and upper parts of the country.
According to the PMD, much of Pakistan is expected to experience cold and partly cloudy weather, while temperatures in northern and hilly regions are likely to drop sharply, making conditions very cold, especially during night and early morning hours.
Weather Outlook for Sunday Night
Cold and partly cloudy conditions are forecast to prevail across most areas of the country. However, isolated rainfall, accompanied by light snowfall over mountainous regions, is expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and northwestern parts of Balochistan during the evening or night. Meanwhile, fog and smog are likely to persist over Punjab, upper Sindh, and plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly during nighttime hours, which may reduce visibility.
Forecast for Monday (December 15)
On Monday, cold and partly cloudy weather is expected to continue nationwide, with very cold conditions in hilly areas during morning and night. The PMD has also predicted isolated rain with light snowfall over the mountains in Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and northwestern Balochistan. Dense fog in patches, along with smog, is likely to affect Punjab, upper Sindh, and the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during morning and night hours.
Weather in the Past 24 Hours
Over the last 24 hours, cold and dry weather prevailed in most parts of Pakistan, while hilly regions experienced very cold conditions. Smog and fog continued to affect the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh during morning and night.
Lowest Recorded Temperatures (°C):
Leh recorded the lowest temperature at -5°C, followed by Skardu and Gupis at -3°C, Bagrote at -2°C, and Parachinar at 0°C.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions against cold weather and reduced visibility due to fog and smog, especially while traveling.
