According to the PMD, a westerly wave currently influencing northeastern regions is expected to shift northeastwards within the next 12 to 18 hours. This weather pattern is likely to intensify cold conditions in various parts of the country.

The PMD predicts mainly dry and cold conditions for most regions on Sunday. However, rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over hills is expected at isolated locations in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and surrounding hilly areas.
Outlook for December 9, 2024
On Monday, dry weather will continue to dominate most parts of the country alongside a cold wave. Light rain-thunderstorm with light snowfall over hills is anticipated in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and nearby areas. Additionally:
• Frost may occur in plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Punjab during early morning hours.
• Fog is likely in parts of southern Punjab and upper Sindh during the morning and night.

In the last 24 hours, cold and dry conditions were observed across the country, with very cold weather reported in hilly regions. Rainfall was recorded in Pattan (8 mm), Sargodha (2 mm), Okara (2 mm), and D.I. Khan (1 mm).
