Karachi, July 26, 2024 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released the shipping activity report for Friday, July 26, 2024, providing valuable information to stakeholders regarding the movements and operations at the port.
On Thursday, six ships berthed at Port Qasim’s various terminals, including Maersk Cairo, ONE Modern, MSC Positano, Seaspan Ganges, Silver Valerie, and Bolan. These vessels were carrying containers, palm oil, and mogas, and were accommodated at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminals, and FOTCO Oil Terminal, respectively.
Additionally, another ship, Sea Luck-III, which is scheduled to load and offload condensed cargo, arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on the same day.
During the last 24 hours, a total of eleven ships were actively engaged at PQA berths. Three ships, Maersk Cairo, ONE Modern, and Fisher, departed the port on Friday morning, while two more ships, Seaspan Ganges and Bolan, are expected to sail later in the afternoon.
The port handled a significant cargo volume of 152,463 tonnes within the last 24 hours. This included 95,995 tonnes of import cargo and 56,468 tonnes of export cargo, transported in a total of 5,541 containers, with 3,130 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) for imports and 2,411 TEUs for exports.
Currently, there are five ships at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. Among them, the Sky Dweller and Southern Anoa, carrying mogas and chemicals respectively, are expected to take berths at FOTCO and EVTL on Friday. Additionally, two more container ships, Lotus-A and Appollon-D, are scheduled to arrive at the port on Saturday.
