Port Qasim Handles 168,850 Tons Cargo in 24 Hours

Karachi, March 31, 2026 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released its daily shipping activity report, highlighting vessel movements and cargo handling operations over the past 24 hours at one of Pakistan’s busiest seaports.

According to the latest update issued at 8:00 AM, a total of four vessels—Al-Bert-P, MSC Tracy-V, Fortune Legacy, and Chem Silicon—berthed at different terminals, including the Qasim International Container Terminal (QICT), Grain Terminal, and Engro Vopak Terminal. These ships carried a mix of cargo such as containers, soybean seeds, and chemicals.

Meanwhile, two additional vessels, Pentozali and Kassiopi GR, arrived at the outer anchorage carrying gas oil and coal, awaiting berthing clearance.

During the reporting period, eight ships were engaged at various berths at Port Qasim. Of these, Al-Bert-P and Teacher-O departed the port earlier in the day, while three vessels—Chem Silicon, AM Ocean Pride, and MSC Tracy-V—are scheduled to sail later in the afternoon.

The port handled a total cargo volume of 168,850 tons, including 136,936 tons of imported goods and 31,914 tons of export cargo. Containerized trade remained active, with 5,240 containers processed, including 3,507 TEUs of imports and 1,733 TEUs of exports.

Currently, nine ships are stationed at the outer anchorage. Among them, Vienna Wood, Propel Wisdom, and a container vessel Westerly are expected to berth at FOTCO, PIBT, and QICT terminals for loading and unloading operations.

The report reflects steady maritime activity, underlining Port Qasim’s critical role in Pakistan’s trade and logistics network.
