Port Qasim Handles Massive Cargo Flow in 24 Hours

Port Qasim Activity

Karachi, April 5, 2026 – The Port Qasim Authority released its daily shipping and cargo statement, highlighting active port operations, vessel movements, and commodity handling at one of Pakistan’s busiest maritime hubs.

As of 0800 hours, a total of 11 vessels were berthed at the port, handling a wide range of import cargo including coal, palm oil, gas oil, phosphoric acid, soybean seeds, and containers. Major ships such as Malbec Horizon, Grampus Dignity, and Hansa Europe were engaged in unloading and loading operations across different terminals.

Coal remained one of the dominant commodities handled during the last 24 hours, with significant volumes processed at PIBT and other terminals. Additionally, shipments of palm oil, rice, and yellow peas were also recorded, reflecting steady trade activity and supply chain continuity.

The report further noted that seven ships were registered in port operations, while no new vessel arrivals were expected during the day. Several vessels completed their operations and departed from various terminals, including EVTL, PIBT, and QT2, indicating smooth cargo turnover.

Shipping movements included multiple departures such as Chemroad Jupiter, Kassiopi GR, and Crystal O, while some vessels were shifted within terminals for operational efficiency. These coordinated movements are part of routine port management to ensure seamless logistics flow.

At the outer anchorage, additional vessels carrying bulk commodities like coal and soybean seeds remained on standby, awaiting berthing clearance. These shipments, arriving from countries including Brazil, Indonesia, and South Africa, underline Pakistan’s reliance on maritime trade for essential imports.

Port Qasim continues to play a critical role in supporting the national economy by ensuring uninterrupted cargo handling and efficient vessel operations.
