Port Qasim Activity

KARACHI, April 15, 2026 — The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) on Wednesday released its daily shipping activity report, detailing vessel movements, cargo handling, and berth operations over the past 24 hours to assist stakeholders in the maritime and logistics sectors.

According to the report issued at 8:00 AM Pakistan Standard Time (PKT), multiple vessels carrying bulk commodities, container cargo, and liquid bulk products were handled at the port, reflecting steady operational activity at one of Pakistan’s key trade gateways.

A bulk carrier, Van Leopard, carrying coal, berthed at the Pakistan International Bulk Terminal during the reporting period. Meanwhile, three vessels — CMA CGM Syracusz, African Parrot, and Cartagena — arrived at outer anchorage for scheduled loading and unloading operations involving container cargo, cement, and palm oil.

The report stated that a total of eight ships were engaged at various berths at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. Among them, a grain carrier named Cepheus departed the port on Wednesday morning after completing its operations.

Four additional vessels — Burgan, Jahan Moni, CD Fortune, and CMA CGM Syracrusz — are expected to sail later in the day, subject to operational clearance and weather conditions.

Cargo handling activity remained strong, with the port processing a total of 147,912 tonnes. This included 97,762 tonnes of import cargo and 50,150 tonnes of export cargo. The volume was handled through 1,454 containers, comprising 184 TEUs of imports and 1,270 TEUs of exports.

The report further noted that 10 vessels were anchored at the outer anchorage area. Of these, five ships — CMA CGM Syracrusz, African Parrot, Cartagena, Liefde, and Lamu — are scheduled to berth at terminals including QICT, MW-1, LCT, FAP, and FOTCO for handling container, cement, palm oil, soybean seed, and gasoline cargoes.

Port officials said the consistent flow of vessels highlights ongoing trade activity and operational efficiency at the port, which plays a critical role in Pakistan’s import and export logistics chain.
