Port Qasim Issues Shipping Activity Report for May 14th

Karachi, May 14, 2024 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released its shipping activity report for Tuesday, May 14, 2024, providing crucial insights to stakeholders involved in maritime operations.

The report highlights significant shipping activities at the port, with three vessels – MSC Silva, Hanyu Freesia, and Horizon-1 – carrying containers, chemicals, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), respectively, berthing at Container Terminal, Engro Terminal, and Sui Southern Gas Terminal on Monday.

Moreover, the report indicates that five additional ships – Scorpio Glory, Amoureux, Zhe Hai-511, Victoria Kosan, and Hafnia Excel – scheduled to load/offload rice, containers, chemicals, and gasoline, arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

During this period, a total of eight ships were engaged at PQA berths, with the edible oil carrier ‘Marina Aman’ departing the port in the morning. Furthermore, six more ships – MSC Silva, Amoureux, PH Giang Minh, MH Sandef Jord, Federal Iberville, and Hanyu Freesia – are expected to set sail in the afternoon.

Cargo handling operations remained brisk, with a total cargo volume of 117,523 tons, comprising 52,025 tons of imports and 65,498 tons of exports, handled in 2,690 containers (1,423 TEUs imports and 1,267 TEUs exports) during the last 24 hours.

At present, there are 13 ships at the Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, including vessels such as Capricorn, Scio Spirit, Zhe Hai-511, Asia Inspire, Victoria Kosan, and Amoureux. Additionally, two more ships – Maersk Columbus and Hv Alice – are scheduled to load/offload iron ore, palm kernel, coal, palm oil, chemicals, containers, and coal, expected to berth at various terminals on May 14th.

Looking ahead, two container ships – Maersk Cabo Verde and America – are slated to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday, further contributing to the bustling maritime activities at one of Pakistan’s premier ports.
