Port Qasim records busy day in shipping operations

Port Qasim Activity

Karachi, August 16, 2025 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) on Saturday reported a hectic schedule of arrivals and departures as vessels carrying coal, steel, LNG, and palm oil kept the country’s second-largest port fully engaged.

According to the daily report issued at 0800 hours, several ships completed sailing during the past 24 hours. Among the key departures were M.V. Sedra with a steel billet consignment, M.V. Mega Benefit carrying a large shipment of soyabean seed, and M.T. PVT Neptune loaded with palm oil. Officials said these sailings highlight the Port’s expanding role in agricultural and industrial imports.

At the same time, berthing activity remained steady. M.V. Bulk Bequia brought in over 58,000 tons of coal, while M.T. Maya Gas 1 delivered a fresh LPG supply. A significant arrival was M.T. Gaslog Seattle, an LNG carrier docking with more than 142,000 tons of cargo. In addition, M.V. Abilene anchored with coal, while M.V. MSC Vittoria and M.V. Azure Dolphin added container traffic to the schedule.

Officials at Port Qasim noted that the smooth handling of such a diverse range of cargo underlines the efficiency of its logistics network. Regular updates, they added, are crucial for shipping agents, traders, and other stakeholders who depend on timely port data to streamline their operations.
