Karachi, June 21, 2024 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released its shipping activity report for Friday, June 21, 2024, providing key updates to stakeholders.
On Thursday, four ships berthed at various terminals: Maersk Chicago at the Container Terminal, Navios Constellation at the Engro Terminal, OM Shanghai at the Oil Terminal, and Khairpur carrying containers, chemicals, and gasoline, respectively. Additionally, two more ships, High Loyalty and Canopus, carrying edible oil, arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on the same day.
In the past 24 hours, seven ships were engaged at PQA berths. Of these, Simaisma and Navios Constellation departed from the port this morning. Four more ships, Maersk Chicago, Atlantic Crown, OM Shanghai, and Ashico Victoria, are expected to sail later today.
The cargo volume handled at the port over the last 24 hours amounted to 106,358 tonnes. This included 69,577 tonnes of import cargo and 36,781 tonnes of export cargo, transported in 5,101 containers (3,044 TEUs of imports and 2,057 TEUs of exports).
Currently, four ships are stationed at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. Among them, the edible oil carrier High Loyalty and two more ships, Doris and OM, carrying palm oil, grain, and LPG, are expected to berth at LCT, FAP, and SSGC, respectively, on Friday. Additionally, another container ship, MSC Shay, is scheduled to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday.
