Karachi, September 13, 2024 – Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has published its shipping activity report for September 13, 2024, offering a comprehensive overview of the port’s recent operations and key developments for stakeholders.
On Thursday, Port Qasim saw significant maritime activity with the arrival of three vessels. The One Recommendation, Torm Malaysia, and Ab Serena docked at various terminals within the port. The One Recommendation and Torm Malaysia berthed at the Qasim International Container Terminal and the Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively, handling containers and palm oil. Meanwhile, the Ab Serena was docked at the Engro Vopak Terminal, bringing in chemicals.
In addition to these arrivals, two more ships, the Apollon-D and Epic Burano, were anchored at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim over the past 24 hours. The Apollon-D is carrying a load of containers, while the Epic Burano is transporting liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
During the last 24 hours, the port engaged a total of eleven ships. Of these, three vessels—the One Recommendation, CP Shenzhen, and Lusail—departed the port this morning. The departure of these ships has opened up berths for incoming vessels. Today, three additional ships—the DA Heng Shan, Kaley, and AB Serena—are scheduled to set sail, continuing the dynamic flow of maritime traffic.
The port handled a substantial cargo volume of 133,257 tonnes in the last 24 hours. This cargo included 117,272 tonnes of imports and 15,985 tonnes of exports, distributed across 1,276 containers. Specifically, 644 TEUs were designated for imports while 632 TEUs were allocated for exports.
Currently, six ships are stationed at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. Among them, the Ammos, Clipper Lis, and Epic Burano are expected to berth at MW-1, MW-2, and EVTL respectively to manage cargo including rice and LPG. Additionally, the port anticipates the arrival of two container ships, the X-Press Altair and TSS Amber, on Saturday.
