Port Qasim Reports Active Shipping Movement – July 21, 2025

Port Qasim Activity

Karachi, July 21, 2025 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released its latest shipping activity report, reflecting dynamic port and shipping operations over the past 24 hours.

The report, updated at 0800 hours on Monday, is part of the PQA’s regular efforts to provide transparency and coordination among port users and stakeholders involved in maritime trade and logistics.

According to the PQA, a total of seven vessels engaged in import and export operations were berthed at various terminals of Port Qasim. These vessels carried diverse cargoes including Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), palm oil, gas oil, coal, cement, and rice — highlighting the wide range of shipping activity taking place at the port.

The shipping activity on July 21 saw M.T-EJNAN, an LNG carrier, berthing at the Pakistan GasPort Consortium Limited (PGPCL) terminal, offloading over 141,000 metric tons of LNG. Another significant arrival was M.T-BENTLEY I, which docked with over 32,000 metric tons of palm oil, reflecting strong demand in the edible oil trade. In parallel, M.V-KARADENIZ S, loaded with 54,500 metric tons of coal, was berthed at the Pakistan International Bulk Terminal (PIBT), underscoring Port Qasim’s continued importance for bulk commodity imports.

Additionally, M.V-MEGHNA PRESTIGE arrived with a mixed cargo of 35,000 metric tons of cement and 8,900 metric tons of rice. Its berthing further demonstrates the diversification of port operations and shipping activity supporting both industrial and agricultural sectors.

Port Qasim’s strategic location and expanding facilities continue to attract a high volume of shipping activity, making it a vital hub in Pakistan’s maritime trade. With vessels such as M.T-POP carrying 45,000 metric tons of gas oil and other container ships anchoring at terminals like QT2-I and FOTCO, the port is witnessing consistent operational throughput.

The Port Qasim Authority emphasized that all berthing procedures and cargo handling operations are being carried out smoothly, thanks to the coordination between port officials, ship agents, and terminal operators. This daily report serves not only as an update on shipping activity but also as a crucial communication tool for planners, logisticians, and customs officials involved in import-export processes.

As shipping activity continues to rise, Port Qasim’s role in facilitating national and international maritime trade remains central to Pakistan’s economic landscape.
