Port Qasim reports active shipping operations for January 7, 2026

Port Qasim Activity

Karachi, January 7, 2026 — The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) on Wednesday released its daily shipping activity report, highlighting steady vessel movements and continued operational activity at one of Pakistan’s busiest seaports. The report was issued to facilitate port users, shipping agents, importers, and exporters.

According to the PQA, the shipping activity was updated at 8:00 am Pakistan Standard Time (PST) and covers vessel movements recorded during the past 24 hours. Multiple ships carrying essential commodities departed from the port, reflecting strong trade activity and smooth cargo handling operations.

Among the vessels that sailed during the day were ships loaded with polymers, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), coal, palm oil, and containerized cargo. Bulk and container vessels also departed from different berths, indicating normal port operations across both liquid and dry cargo terminals. Port officials noted that shipping schedules remained largely on track, with no major congestion reported.

In addition to outbound traffic, several vessels berthed at Port Qasim during the reporting period. These included container ships, LNG carriers, and bulk vessels carrying palm oil and soybean seed. The arrival of LNG and edible oil consignments is particularly significant, as these commodities play a key role in meeting the country’s energy and food requirements.

Officials said the smooth berthing and sailing of vessels reflected effective coordination among terminal operators, shipping agents, and port authorities. They added that Port Qasim continues to play a vital role in facilitating Pakistan’s international trade by handling a diverse range of imports and exports on a daily basis.

The PQA reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring efficient port operations, safety standards, and uninterrupted cargo movement to support national economic activity.
